Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I've never had a massage, what can I expect?
A: Before your appointment starts, you will complete an intake form and your therapist will perform a consultation to assess your goals for your massage. You will then be instructed to undress to your comfort level and to get under the sheet and blanket on the massage table, once the therapist leaves the room. Once your session starts, it is best to keep an open line of communication about your comfort level with your therapist to ensure the best experience for you.
**Helpful Tip: Please have a copy of all medications that you are currently taking, as some medications create contraindications to bodywork.
Q: What's your cancellation policy?
A: If you need to cancel or reschedule an upcoming appointment, do so with at least a 24 hour notice. If cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, you will be charged 50% of your session fee. You may cancel by phone or email. (Refer to Policy page)
Q: I am pregnant, can I still receive bodywork?
A: If you are experiencing a healthy and low risk pregnancy, and are at least 10 weeks gestation, you can receive bodywork. If you are high risk, there are some contraindications to massage so please contact me and we can determine if you can receive bodywork with a doctor's permission.
Q: I have a cold/sinus infection. Is it okay to still receive bodywork?
A: If you find yourself to be "under the weather" please call as soon as possible to reschedule your appointment. Your therapist will turn you away for your safety and theirs. Massage can exacerbate your symptoms, and you can spread germs and make your therapist sick as well. Sharing isn't caring when it comes to germs! (Refer to policy page for more information)
